Children’s Legal Services of San Diego Seeks Community Leader to Join Board of Directors

Children’s Legal Services of San Diego (CLSSD) is seeking local, invested community members for the volunteer leadership position on the Board of Directors to support the organization’s mission to protect and defend the rights of children and youth in the child welfare system through high-quality and compassionate legal representation.  CLSSD is a non-profit, interdisciplinary organization that consists of four law firms, which are court-appointed to represent both minors and non-minor dependents in Juvenile Dependency Court within and out of San Diego County.  At CLS, diversity, in the fullest sense of the word, which includes not only race and ethnicity, but also gender, sexual orientation, age, lifestyle, and abilities, is valued.

CLSSD is seeking candidates with experience in the following industries: finance / banking, medical (e.g. pediatrician,) fundraising or a former foster youth or parent.

The directors provide general leadership, formulate policy, oversee and approve financials and organizational budget, assist with fundraising, and transacting such business as may come before the Board.   The Board generally meets 9-10 times a year.
