We are a 20-year-old 501(c)3 corporation, dedicated to nurturing writers and fostering a literary community by: serving as a hub for the literary community, promoting literature, providing artistic development for writers at all levels, and facilitating artistic collaboration.

San Diego Writers, Ink (SDWI) is searching for board candidates interested in joining the leadership of San Diego’s premier writers’ organization. Board members serve 3-year terms and may be re-elected. This is a volunteer position.

Candidates need not be writers, but should be committed to our organizational mission, stated above. We are especially looking for candidates with professional skills in law, marketing, public relations and fund-raising. SDWI is committed to promoting and celebrating  diversity, equity and inclusion.

Primary board member responsibilities:

* Attend two-thirds or more of bimonthly Zoom meetings plus an annual in-person, day-long retreat.

* Actively support and help with committee work as needed.

* Attend one or more SDWI-sponsored events per quarter.

* Contribute a minimum of $500 annually via personal financial donations, pro bono teaching, and/or leveraging networks for donations.
