About the Board
As the highest leadership body of the organizations, the Board:
Governs the overall planning and execution of the organizational mission and vision for the future.
Selects, supports, and evaluates the performance of the Executive Director.
Ensures strong fiduciary oversight and financial management.
Serves as an ambassador and represents the organization to external audiences.
Develops and participates in annual fundraising events and donor engagement opportunities.
Ensures legal and ethical integrity.
VMOTA is currently seeking Board members who are passionate about our mission and possess any combination of the following skills/characteristics:
Experience or interest in nonprofit organizations
Leadership in community building or corporate connections
Interest in and knowledge of textile arts
Emerging professionals interested in serving their communities
Specialty expertise: Legal, Financial, HR, Marketing/Communications, Fundraising, Events Management
Duties:
Prepare for, attend, and participate in monthly Board meetings. Meetings are monthly and held at the museum or by Zoom.
Participate fully in one or more committees or task forces.
Help identify personal connections that can benefit Visions’ fundraising efforts and reputational standing in the community.
Give a personal, meaningful financial donation.
Respect all who bring their voices and lived experiences to the Board and the organization
