UPLIFT Youth Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth mental wellness through mindfulness, movement, meditation, journaling, and meaningful connection.

Organization
UPLIFT Youth Foundation is a Southern California nonprofit dedicated to making youth mental health support accessible, community-centered, and culturally responsive, delivering evidence-based wellness and mentorship programming to teens across Orange County schools and community partnerships.

Position Overview
UPLIFT’s board of directors supports the organization’s mission through strategic governance and leadership. While day-to-day operations are led by UPLIFT’s ED, staff, and consultants, the board-ED relationship is a true partnership, and active board involvement is both expected and essential to UPLIFT’s continued growth.

Board Member Responsibilities
Board members are expected to understand UPLIFT’s mission, policies, programs, and needs; help oversee UPLIFT’s strategic direction; serve as a trusted advisor to the ED in implementing the strategic plan; review outcomes and impact metrics; approve the annual budget and financial reports; assist in identifying and recruiting other board members, with a commitment to board and staff diversity reflecting the communities UPLIFT serves; serve on at least one board committee or special assignment; act as an ambassador for UPLIFT in the community; help identify and leverage personal connections that benefit UPLIFT’s fundraising, reach, and reputation; and disclose any potential or actual conflicts of interest.

Board members are covered by Directors and Officers insurance and will not face personal liability unless acting fraudulently or with gross negligence.

Term
3-year term, with the option to serve one additional 2-year term.

Time Commitment
Minimum of 10 board meetings per year, including an annual planning retreat, plus committee or task force involvement as needed.

Financial Commitment
A minimum annual contribution of $5,000 through personal giving, in-kind donations, and/or secured program funding.

Meeting Schedule & Location
1 or 2nd Monday of the month via Zoom

Qualifications We’re Seeking
We’re especially interested in candidates with expertise in [e.g., finance, legal, fundraising/development, marketing, corporate or community partnerships], along with a genuine passion for youth mental health and wellness.
