Organization: Birthline of San Diego is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering pregnant women and young families in need by providing essential resources, support, and guidance in a compassionate and confidential environment.

Position Overview: Birthline of San Diego is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members play a vital role in guiding the organization’s mission, ensuring financial sustainability, and promoting equity and inclusion within our programs and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to advance Birthline’s mission and goals.
  • Actively participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and organizational planning sessions.
  • Advocate for Birthline’s mission and programs within the community and among potential funders and partners.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and event participation.
  • Engage in governance responsibilities, including fiscal oversight, policy development, and legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program effectiveness and impact.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to Birthline’s mission and values, including compassion, empathy, and respect for diversity.
  • Expertise in areas such as fundraising, finance, marketing, legal, or healthcare is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to dedicate time and energy to actively participate in board meetings, committee work, and organizational initiatives.
  • Willingness to engage in fundraising activities and advocate for Birthline within the community.

Time Commitment:

Board members are expected to serve a minimum term of two years and attend monthly board meetings, committee meetings, and occasional special events. The time commitment may vary depending on individual roles and responsibilities.

Location:

Birthline of San Diego is located in San Diego, California. Board meetings and organizational events may be held virtually or in-person, depending on current circumstances and preferences.
