About Christie’s Place
For 30 years, Christie’s Place has empowered women, children, families, and individuals impacted by HIV to take charge of their health and wellness through trauma-informed, family-centered services. As the only nonprofit in San Diego County dedicated specifically to women and families impacted by HIV, Christie’s Place provides bilingual case management, mental health services, peer navigation, benefits counseling, emergency assistance, leadership development, and community advocacy.
Today, Christie’s Place is entering an exciting period of growth, expanding innovative programs that improve health outcomes while advancing health equity for communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.
Opportunity
Christie’s Place is seeking passionate, community-minded leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide the organization through its next chapter.
Board members serve as strategic partners to the Executive Director, providing governance, financial stewardship, and thoughtful leadership while helping ensure Christie’s Place remains a sustainable, responsive, and innovative organization for years to come.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of women and families while contributing your professional expertise to one of San Diego’s most respected HIV organizations.
We Are Seeking Individuals With Experience In:
- Finance, accounting, or investment management
- Law or nonprofit governance
- Healthcare or public health
- Human resources
- Marketing, communications, or public relations
- Philanthropy and fundraising
- Technology, cybersecurity, or artificial intelligence
- Real estate, facilities, or construction
- Government or public policy
- Community advocacy and social justice
- We also welcome individuals with lived experience that reflects the communities Christie’s Place serves.
Board Member Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in bi-monthly Board meetings.
- Serve on at least one Board committee.
- Provide strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and governance.
- Serve as ambassadors for Christie’s Place within the community.
- Support fundraising and resource development efforts, including making a personally meaningful annual contribution.
- Participate in key organizational events, including the annual gala and fundraising activities.
- Uphold Christie’s Place’s mission, values, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice.
Time Commitment
Approximately 4–8 hours per month
