Girl Now Woman Later educates girls about menstrual health and works to eliminate period shame, while increasing graduation rates for middle and high school girls in Burkina Faso. We believe that an educated girl becomes an empowered woman. As an all-volunteer organization, we deliver science-based outreach through workshops, coaching, and collaborative projects.
VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS
Girl Now Woman Later (GNWL) is seeking passionate, hands-on board members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

PURPOSE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Board members play a vital role in guiding GNWL’s strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and securing the resources needed to advance our mission. They help ensure the organization is managed ethically, responsibly, and effectively.
BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Board members contribute in meaningful ways, including:
Engaging personal and professional networks to support GNWL financially.
Connecting GNWL with corporate foundations or community programs.
Planning or hosting fundraising events (e.g., tournaments, dinner fundraisers).
Building partnerships with other organizations and leaders.
Promoting GNWL’s campaigns and initiatives.
Supporting governance and financial oversight.
Holding the leadership team accountable to the mission.
Recruiting and mentoring new board members.
Attending bi-monthly board meetings and staying informed on-board matters.
COMMITMENT
Attend board meetings every two months.
Actively participate in fundraising and outreach.
Serve as an ambassador for GNWL in your community and networks.
