Girls on the Run San Diego is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance participants' social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. Our fun, interactive lessons meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

WHO WE ARE
Girls on the Run San Diego is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates
running. Since 2006, our organization has served more than 12,000 girls throughout San Diego county.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Board members play a critical role in the governance of the organization. Candidates must reside in San Diego county and possess the time, passion, and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. Preferred qualifications include:
● A natural relationship and community builder.
● Proven track record of success in a time-sensitive, project-oriented professional environment.
● Professional experience in Legal, Fundraising/Development, Marketing/PR, Information Technology, Financial Management, DEI and/or HR disciplines.
● Experience serving on a nonprofit board or as a long-term volunteer with a nonprofit organization in a leadership capacity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Board members are responsible for raising awareness of the organization throughout San Diego county and cultivating connections and funding sources to support the organizational
infrastructure, sustainability, and overall capacity for growth. Please note: This is an unpaid, volunteer position lasting one two-year term with the option to renew up to two times, for a total of six years.
● Serve as an ambassador for GOTR, exhibiting GOTRSD core values. Continuously work to achieve the GOTRSD mission.
● Provide financial oversight and support to effectively steward of the financial health of the organization.
● Commit 8 to 12 hours per month for board and organizational support activities including participation in the monthly GOTRSD Board of Directors meeting, as well as Board committee meetings, semi-annual 5K events and additional volunteer opportunities as
needed.
