Website Helping Hands for Homelessness
Helping Hands for Homelessness develops compassionate student leaders through education, direct service, and dignity-centered support for people experiencing homelessness.
Helping Hands for Homelessness is seeking a Board Treasurer to provide financial oversight as our nonprofit and university chapter network grows. The Treasurer will review financial reports, assist with annual budgeting, monitor financial risks and internal controls, coordinate with accounting professionals, and clearly communicate the organization’s financial position to the board. An entry-level finance team member will handle routine financial tasks but will require training, direction, and mentorship from the Treasurer.
The Treasurer will serve a two-year term and should expect a commitment of approximately three to five hours per month. The board meets quarterly by video conference, with brief monthly financial check-ins. Board service is voluntary, with no minimum financial contribution required.
Ideal candidates have experience in nonprofit accounting, finance, audit, banking, or financial management. Candidates should be reliable, mission-driven, and excited to help a growing organization build a strong financial foundation.
