About Being a Board Member

Serving as a Board member is fundamentally different than other ways you could volunteer to support VMOTA. Each individual Board member is expected to:

  1. Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in Board meetings.
  2. Participate fully in one or more committees or task forces.
  3. Help identify personal connections that can benefit VMOTA’s fundraising and reputational standing and give a meaningful personal financial donation.
  4. Respect the experiences of all who bring their voices and lived experiences to the Board and the organization.

Board members will serve a three-year term beginning in March after our Annual Meeting. Though our regular board terms begin in March, we gather applications year-round for those who want to explore this opportunity. Once you complete your application, a board member will contact you within one week to learn more about your interest. We invite all interested to join us for a board mixer in November to learn more about the organization and share why you are interested in joining the VMOTA board. Email info@vmota.org for more information about the upcoming mixer.

We look forward to hearing from you!
